Tulane Concert Band
Once the excitement of the Carnival season is over, the members of the TUMB take their talents indoors along with other members of the campus musical community to perform as the Tulane Concert Band (TCB), providing an evening of music from classical to contemporary with a yearly themed program. Themes in the recent past have included "Composers of the British Empire" and "Remembrance, Resilience, and Rebirth." The TCB offers students a large instrumental ensemble with which to perform and continue the development of their musical skills and offers the community another Tulane University concert program towards the end of the semester.
In 2016, the TCB travelled off-campus to the National WWII Museum in the Central Business District of New Orleans for a Sunday afternoon concert. The concert was well-attended by community members and the Tulane Bands Program thanks the National WWII Museum for its efforts in helping to plan this unique performance in their beautiful new Freedom Pavilion - Boeing Center!
The annual TCB concert is preceded by an annual Alumni & Friends of the Band Dinner in the Lavin-Bernick Center's 1834 Club and followed by a reception in Dixon Hall 118.
